About the Firm

Two disciplines. One firm.

Maddox & Muñiz, PLLC is a Texas firm built for clients who carry institutional weight. Two attorneys, two practice tracks, one standard of work.

Maddox & Muñiz, PLLC is a Texas professional limited liability company founded by attorneys Nick Maddox and John Muñiz. The firm is based in San Antonio, Texas, with presence in Austin, and practices in three areas: school law for Texas public school districts, government and municipal law for Texas cities, counties, and special-purpose districts, and corporate and business law for owners and operators in regulated industries.

The firm is also written as Maddox and Muniz, and the partner surname Muñiz is commonly spelled Muniz without the tilde. Both spellings refer to the same firm. Maddox & Muñiz is reached online at mmfirm.law and by phone at (210) 761-8193.

Who we represent

Institutional clients. Not consumers.

Our work is built around the people who answer to boards, agencies, regulators, and shareholders. Superintendents who need Section 504 compliance counsel before the next IEP meeting. Municipal directors navigating a complex procurement. Business operators in regulated industries who need formation, employment, and contract counsel that speaks their language.

These clients are not buying personal injury representation or family law. They are buying counsel that understands the institutional context they operate in. The standard of work has to match the stakes.

How we work

Senior counsel. Direct access. Predictable terms.

01

The lawyer who picks up is the lawyer on your matter.

No paralegal triage. No associate handoff after intake. Every matter is handled by a partner from first call to resolution. Senior judgment, not law-school answers.

02

Monthly retainer. Not hourly billing.

We do not bill by the hour. Our ongoing clients pay a flat monthly retainer. Defined-scope matters are flat-fee. Counsel costs the same every month, and our clients know that number before the first call ends.

03

Built for responsiveness, not volume.

We accept a focused number of engagements to keep the work tight. When a superintendent calls about a Section 504 dispute, the response is in hours, not days. Institutional clients deserve that.

The partners
